AFGHANISTAN WOULD SIDE WITH PAKISTAN IN A WAR WITH THE U.S.
Reuters reports that Afghan President Karzai told a Pakistani TV audience yesterday that should war break out from the heated rhetoric between the USA and Pakistan, Afghanistan will side with Pakistan.
Karzai, seen by his own people as a US puppet and largely despised, is heavily financed by the USA. His troops are trained, supplied and paid by the USA. It is widely believed in the region that if the US pulls out, Karzai would soon have his throat slit by the Afghan people, even though he has “won” elections under US occupation (likely owing to massive covert financial aid from the State Department, with supporting warlords paid off).
Karzai walks a tightrope and feels from time to time he has to pretend to be an independent operator. A few years ago he said all US contractors had to leave Afghanistan, but of course, they are still there. That was an example of “standing up to the hated occupiers” for public consumption. This one is a similar exercise.
RICHARD COHEN SPREADING LIES AGAIN
The biggest sellout columnists and talking heads in the corporate media are the liberals, as we so often point out. Their job is to shape the propaganda for those who describe themselves as liberals. The worst of these are the most prominent, who are invited everywhere on Television “news analysis” programs to spew the official line.
Hence, when the National Security State decided to push an invasion of Iraq, Tom Friedman of the NY Times, Scott Simon of NPR, and Richard Cohen of the Washington Post were on board to spread the lies and repeat them until they ignited liberal support for the illegal invasion, as the “conservative” media were similarly pushing support for the war to their base.
At the time, we are proud to say at LUV News, we were pointing out that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, going against the entire corporate media. The evidence was there early, the world’s foremost experts on Iraqi weapons systems wrote extensively about it, and we ran their columns in LUV News at the same time Friedman, Simon and Cohen were spewing the lies.
This morning, retired CIA analyst Ray McGovern, who used to brief Presidents of the USA on intelligence, has a blistering piece attacking Cohen for now pushing what appear to be lies about Iran, concluding “[I]t should come as no surprise that Richard Cohen is now helping to set the stage for another war – with Iran.”
POLICE BRUTALITY CHARGES SWEEP ACROSS THE U.S.

The Guardian has a story this morning about police brutality which appears to be rife from coast to coast in the Land of the Free. Of course, we had to go to British news to find it, US corporate media see nothing, hear nothing and certainly only speak on command from the National Security State and ruling Forces of Greed.
One thing many police seem to fear is cameras, as one police officer in the story says “I could throw somebody a beating, they catch me on camera, and I’m fired,” which is why, when asked by organizers of the US branch of the ongoing democracy movement for advice before the occupy gatherings began, LUV News recommended that everyone attending bring a camera.
